She grew up in Winneapolis (like minneapolis MN) a large city with a lot of ponies.
She is a 3rd cousin to Derpy and has the same eye condition as her as well.
She was bullied but not because of her eyes, she was bullied for having to break a lot of things around her, she is clumsy, but never intends any harm, she dropped out of school and moved to Canterlot, and rented a small apartment because her parents didn't want her there, she travels a lot to look for jobs and earn money, she met a colt and they became friends after a long time, soon she started to get even more friends, one day she goes flying toward the everfree forest and then a storm hits, she hides under some trees to get out of the rain, light hits the tree and a a large branch hits her right on the head, she was knoucked out cold, when she woke up, she found her self in a cave not knowing where she was or who she was, she had lost her memory, and dark figure approched her holding whay seemed to be a necklace, she could now see the figure in the light, it was and dark grey unicorn with red eyes and jet black hair, his horn seemed to glow red, he said to her "I am King Sombra!" she cowdered in fear not know exactly why, she wanted to run but the were shackles on all four of her hooves, her wings stinged as she looked at them they were covered all over by black crystals, he troted closer with the necklace, the necklace had an alicorn on it with a large red ruby, she wanted to scream but couldn't. and everything went black... She woke up yet again this time the colt named King Sombra stood next to her, she looked at him and just luaghed insanely and he grined and they troted all the way into the darkness.... Sombra had brainwashed her by using the alicorn amulet that he put a spell on for it to work..
